Works on graphite, pastel and oil pastel 14” x 17”, Ceil’s preferred size, but when caught without her sketch book will draw on anything- even a paper plate.
The magic of how notes from diverse instruments go together, creating an auditory rhythm, melody, & story has similarities to how lines gather together in a drawing to capture the same in the visual realm. Each drawing, created while the musicians perform, gives evidence of this exchange.
Ceil has been drawing some bands like Grass It Up for 15 years, a diary of sorts for both the band and artist. Her drawings have adorned CD covers and have been used for promotional material for bands and concerts.
