CHALKBOARD PAINTINGS

Old chalk boards have a charm about them with their black painting grounds, green borders uniformly framing each painting, and their small size. The paintings on these chalk boards are always painted “plein air” with the artist delighted to be sitting in the scene she’s painting.

Ceil explains:

“I always paint outside at Breckenridge, turtling up slopes to paint for hours at the summit. Outside, lounging in Crazy Creek chair, my legs tucked in a garbage bag, with mittens on my hands. The more snow the better.”
